The Information Center of the Roman Catholic Church in
Latvia was established because of the need to systematize and develop the initiatives
of priests, catechists and lay people, which were connected with informing the
society about what is happening in the Church, educating the society and
establishing dialogue among different Christian denominations, as well as
between the Church and society.
The goal of the Information Center is to provide public relations for the
Roman Catholic Church in Latvia, to collect and distribute information about
historical and present activities of the Church, as well as enhance dialogue
and cooperation among different structures of the Church and society, to
further the spread of the Gospel values and the Church’s teaching.
The Information Center is established and works for the common good.
Therefore only with your help, support, cooperation and mutual exchange of
information it will be able to develop effectively and reach the established
goals and tasks in order to function as a real help in the daily work and
mission of the Church.
Every member of the Roman Catholic Church is welcome to participate in
establishing and developing of the Information Center – through prayer, you
ideas and suggestions, as well as practical and personal involvement and
contribution in realization of different objectives.
